George L. Gourley, age 70 of Rogersville went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his residence. George loved gardening, horses, camping and fishing. George loved all animals but his special animals were “Little Bits” his dog and his two cats, “Pickles” and “Trouble.” George was retired from IPC Denison and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mattie Gourley, two infant sisters, two brothers, Jack and Bill Gourley, and two sisters Thelma Shell and Marjorie Fields. George leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Joyce A. Gourley,; son, Harry Wesley Gourley (Kathy) of Surgoinsville, and daughter, April Dawn Gourley, of Kingsport; sisters, Mildred Bowlin of Morristown, Nancy Harville (Alfred) of Dayton, Ohio, Joyce Gourley, and Sally Dean (Lloyd) of Rogersville, and his brother, Walter Gourley of Morristown.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Colboch Price Funeral Home, 5:00 – 8:00 PM, with funeral services to follow with the Rev. Ricky Gilliam officiating. Interment will be Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Noon, in the McKinney Cemetery, with the Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee National Guard conducting military rites.
